About Green Hills

What to Know About Living in Green Hills

Houses here started going up on a small scale in the 1930s, and Green Hills was not heavily populated until after World War II. The original stock was mostly brick ranch houses on large lots. Sewers came later, and larger lots and leftover open space have since been redivided for higher-density infill. The neighborhood is suburban and largely car-oriented, organized around Hillsboro Pike rather than one walkable grid. Nashville has no official neighborhood boundary; a commonly used extent runs from I-440 south to Harding Place and from Estes Road east to Lealand Lane, roughly the northern half of ZIP 37215. The retail core is separate from that residential pattern: the Mall at Green Hills began as a strip center in the early 1950s, Hill Center Green Hills (4015–4031 Hillsboro Pike) is a walkable shopping and dining center, Whole Foods Market is at 4021 Hillsboro Pike, and Regal Green Hills is at 3815 Greenhills Village Drive. Vanderbilt, Belmont, and Lipscomb are nearby.

The MNPS 2026–27 pathway map places it in the Hillsboro Cluster with John Trotwood Moore Middle School and Hillsboro High School. In November 2024 the board approved moving a small section east of Hillsboro Pike — 28 students — from Julia Green to Percy Priest Elementary for 2025–26, with grandfathering for students already enrolled. Confirm the address in the MNPS zone finder before you write an offer.

Why Work With Joshua in Green Hills

1

Read the street, not a neighborhood average

postwar ranches and later infill sit on the same blocks. Joshua walks the specific street so those read as different houses, not one product.

2

Reason 2

School assignment is address-specific. Julia Green Elementary is a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School and the zoned elementary for Green Hills and Belle Meade, but a small section east of Hillsboro Pike was moved to Percy Priest. Joshua checks the current MNPS zone before you tour.

3

The corridor is the landmark

Hillsboro Pike holds the mall, Hill Center, and Whole Foods, with Belle Meade to the west and Forest Hills to the south. Joshua compares those places by the house and the school assignment, not by a slogan.

Common Questions

Green Hills — Frequently Asked Questions

How much do homes in Green Hills, Nashville cost in 2026?

There is no published Redfin or GNAR median for Green Hills in this site’s data, so this page does not quote a neighborhood price band. The Nashville citywide figures above are for the city, not Green Hills. Joshua pulls current closed comps for the specific street.

What school does Green Hills feed into?

Julia Green Elementary is a 2020 U.S. Department of Education National Blue Ribbon School and the zoned elementary for Green Hills and Belle Meade. MNPS’s 2026–27 pathway map places it in the Hillsboro Cluster with John Trotwood Moore Middle School and Hillsboro High School. A November 2024 board vote moved a small section east of Hillsboro Pike, 28 students, from Julia Green to Percy Priest Elementary for 2025–26. Confirm the address with MNPS before writing an offer.

Is there new construction available in Green Hills?

Newer houses are mostly infill. The neighborhood filled in after World War II with ranch houses on large lots, and later building has redivided some of those lots and leftover open space rather than opening a new subdivision. Joshua can show what has actually sold on the block you are considering.

How does Green Hills compare to Belle Meade or 12 South?

Belle Meade is the city to the west, and Forest Hills is to the south. Hillsboro Village is directly north across I-440. 12 South is its own Nashville neighborhood. This page does not rank their prices against each other. Joshua can tour the differences in house, lot, and school assignment.
